About the Engagement

Gyre Energy provides thermal energy storage solutions for cold storage sites, combining PCM "cold bricks/panels" with IoT/AI controls to reduce energy costs. The immediate requirement is not heavy product development, but rather improving China supply performance through better sourcing, supplier validation, cost-down, and ongoing management.

In parallel, there is a need to develop and validate a wall-mount PCM solution designed to function reliably in cold-temperature grocery back-of-house freezers.

What We're Setting Out to Achieve

To identify and validate stronger China-based suppliers to reduce quality variance and improve overall cost competitiveness, while running a structured cost-down and supplier improvement program across the target PCM products.

In parallel, we will put in place an ongoing supplier management system with clear specifications, defined QC checkpoints, structured issue resolution, and performance tracking. We will also support the wall-mount PCM requirement by translating performance needs into actionable requirements and validating practical attachment solutions for cold-temperature environments.

Confirm priorities, target SKUs, timeline, and working cadence. Align on the key issues and define success criteria for the engagement.

Review current suppliers and identify issues. Set validation criteria and clear actions for each: maintain, improve, or replace.

Sourcing & Cost-Down
Run RFQs and supplier comparisons. Execute cost-down via negotiation and practical levers, as applicable to the target products.

Sampling & Pre-Production (as needed)
Manage samples and checks, define acceptance criteria, and align the corrective-action process for any new suppliers.

Ongoing Supplier Management
Track delivery, quality, and open issues monthly. Provide a clear progress summary with defined next actions.
