Route to Market Plan

A Proposal for
noséa

This proposal outlines the RTMP Launch Phase for noséa — a premium handheld vibration beauty and wellness device. It covers the full scope of work, deliverables, commercial terms, and the strategic pathway from concept to mass production manufacture.

$5,000 USD 4–6 Working Weeks Shield Works R&D
01Background

Project Background

noséa is a premium handheld beauty device positioned within the professional skincare and wellness category. The product will deliver controlled low amplitude vibration (20–55 Hz) for use on the face, head, and neck, supporting muscle toning, lymphatic drainage, muscle release, and overall skin vitality.

The device will be handheld and ergonomically optimised for facial, head, and neck contours, wrapped in premium seamless silicone, and approximately 3" × 3" × 1" in size. It will feature four operating modes at specific frequencies, a rechargeable battery with 30+ minutes of life, USB-C charging (self-sealing preferred), and a target water resistance rating of IPX6.

The target user is women aged 30–60, with a retail price point of USD $199–$299. The product sits in the premium consumer beauty segment and must deliver smooth, quiet vibration without percussive motion.

The project is currently at idea and concept stage. No CAD files or engineering documentation exist. The client has a design brief and a reference mock-up. Full product development is required from R&D through to mass production manufacture.

03RTMP Launch Phase

Scope of Work

The Route to Market Plan (RTMP) is a paid strategic planning engagement that precedes any development work. It maps the exact pathway from the current concept stage through to mass production manufacture.

Duration: Approximately 4–6 working weeks from confirmation

The RTMP Launch Phase consists of the following five core deliverables:

01
Project Launch Call
Official technical review and kick-off call with the Shield Works R&D team. Together we will review the product and your goals in detail, map the path forward, and ensure full alignment before work begins.
02
Technical R&D Review
Full Shield Works R&D team technical assessment of all provided product information, including the design brief, reference mock-up, and any supporting materials.
03
Technical Analysis Report
Basic DFM and DFA assessment, risk analysis, and review of all core technical areas: electronics architecture, vibration motor selection, battery and charging system, silicone overmoulding approach, and waterproofing feasibility.
04
Indicative Product Quotation
Initial pricing indicative at concept stage, to be refined progressively as the development programme advances. Accuracy is subject to the defined level of readiness for manufacture.
05
Route to Market Plan (RTMP) Document
A 30–40 page strategic roadmap document outlining the exact pathway from concept to mass production manufacture — the primary deliverable of this engagement.

The RTMP Document Will Include

  • Phase timelines and phase management costs
  • Shield Works resource allocations and core deliverables across each phase
  • Industrial design and internal architecture planning
  • Sampling, development, and design optimisation (full DFM/DFA)
  • Electronics development scope: PCB, firmware, vibration motor, battery, and charging system
  • Prototyping and pilot run manufacture planning
  • Mass production pathway and future scaled production goals
Note: The RTMP document is a planning framework only, not the execution of the activities themselves. All development, prototyping, tooling, and production work will be scoped and costed within the RTMP document for client approval before any execution begins.
RTMP Launch Phase Fee
$5,000 USD
Payable in full on project confirmation
Includes all 5 deliverables listed above
04Exclusions

What Is Not Included

The RTMP Launch Phase fee covers all five deliverables above, including all research, technical assessment, reporting, and coordination. The following are excluded and will be scoped and costed within the RTMP document itself:

Industrial design and CAD development work

Electronics development (PCB design, firmware, vibration motor integration)

Prototyping, sampling, and physical testing

Tooling and mould costs

Certification and compliance testing (FCC, CE, IPX6, etc.)

Shipping costs for physical samples or prototypes

Mass production and assembly costs

How We Protect Your Project

Scope Changes
If requirements change materially during the RTMP process or additional product variants are introduced, we will adjust both cost and timeline accordingly and agree any changes before proceeding.
Quotation Accuracy
The Indicative Product Quotation is subject to the level of readiness for manufacture. At idea/concept stage, initial pricing will be indicative and progressively refined through the development phases.
Technical Feasibility
Requirements such as the self-sealing USB-C port and IPX6 water resistance carry meaningful engineering complexity. The RTMP will assess feasibility, cost implications, and trade-offs, presenting options for your decision.
Timelines
The 4–6 week estimate is based on the current scope and assumes reasonable availability for the launch call and any follow-up discussions required during the review process.
